a. Universal Host Controller (or something similar)
b. USB Root Hub
6. If the two devices above are listed, USB is enabled on the computer.
Troubleshooting
If USB is listed, but a round yellow circle with an exclamation point shows up over it, there is a USB driver problem. Remove the USB drivers and reinstall them. To do this, please follow these steps:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE YOUR WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM CD AVAILABLE BEFORE REMOVING AND REINSTALLING ANY DRIVERS!
1. Right click either of the two choices listed under Universal Serial Bus Controller.
2. In the resulting pop up box, select to uninstall or remove the device.
3. After removing the device, click OK, and restart the computer.
4. Upon restarting, the computer will find and reinstall the USB drivers for the operating system.
5. After restarting, check for USB devices in Device Manager, as described above.
