Finding Minimum Requirements on a Macintosh

1. To verify if a Macintosh computer meets the minimum requirements to use the Insight Broadband service, click the Apple icon at the top left of the Finder (or desktop) screen.

2. Click on Apple System Profiler, as shown below:


3. This will bring up a screen that lists all the hardware statistics on the computer. Each of these is identified on the screenshot below in relation to the corresponding description letter:

A. Operating system version.
B. Amount of built-in memory.
C. Processor speed.

The operating system version number, amount of RAM, and the computer processor speed are all shown above, under the System Profile tab.


4. To check the hard drive space requirements, click on the Devices and Volumes tab.


5. Click on the Macintosh HD box, as shown above in red.


6. Both the total amount of space, as well as the free space available will be shown for the computer's hard drive (example below):
