Verifying Internet Connectivity with Ping - Macintosh OS X

The Macintosh OS X operating system has a built-in utility to verify a working Internet connection.

1. Open the hard drive and follow the path of OS X, Applications, Utilities, Network Utility.

 

2. Once the Network utility is open click on the Ping tab. In the Please enter the network address to ping white box, type www.yahoo.com. Click the Ping button. You will be able to see the response displayed below.

 

3. The response, similar to what is shown above, indicates that your computer has a working connection to the Internet.
