Password Change Assistance - Alternate E-mail Programs

Insight understands you may wish to use different e-mail programs to manage your e-mail messages.  While we are not able to provide technical support for all of them, some limited assistance regarding password management is provided below for a few alternate e-mail programs.  Options and settings may vary depending on software versions and operating systems.

Mozilla Thunderbird

  1. Open Mozilla Thunderbird
  2. Click on Tools > Options > Privacy > Passwords > View Saved Passwords
  3. Remove the password for your InsightBB.com account
  4. Close, then re-open Mozilla Thunderbird
  5. When re-opening Mozilla Thunderbird, a pop-up will appear asking for your new password

Netscape (versions 6 and 7)

  1. Open Netscape
  2. From the left, click on Tasks > Privacy & Security > Password > View Stored Passwords (v6) OR click on Tools > Password Manager > Manage Stored Passwords (v7)
  3. Select the InsightBB.com option
  4. Click on 'Remove', then 'OK'
  5. Close, then re-open Netscape
  6. Click on Tasks > Mail (v6) OR click on Window > Mail > Newsgroups (v7)
  7. Enter your desired password
  8. Select "Use Password Manager to remember this password" (optional)

Netscape (version 4x)

  1. Open Netscape
  2. From the left, click on Edit > Preferences > Mail Servers (found by expanding Mail & Newsgroups)
  3. Ensure the name of the Insight mail server is selected (mail.insightbb.com), then click 'Edit'
  4. On the General tab, deselect "Remember password"
  5. Close all windows relating to preferences
  6. Close, then re-open Netscape
  7. From the menu bar, click on Communicator > Messenger to launch "Communicator".  You will be asked to enter your desired password when you attempt to sign in.
  8. After retrieving your mail via "Communicator", you can return to the "Remember password" preference and have "Communicator" remember your password (optional)

Microsoft Outlook 2002 and 2003

  1. Open MS Outlook
  2. Click on Tools > E-mail Accounts
  3. Select "View or exchange existing e-mail accounts" and click "Next"
  4. Ensure the mail.insightbb.com server is selected, then click on "Change"
  5. Deselect "Remember password" under the Login Information section
  6. At the bottom of the window, click on "Next", then "Finish"
  7. Close, then re-open MS Outlook
  8. When prompted, enter your desired password
  9. You may also choose to have MS Outlook remember your password (optional)

Eudora

  1. Open Eudora
  2. Click on Tools > Options (for most Windows-based operating systems) OR Special > Settings (for most Mac-based operating systems)
  3. Under the "Checking Mail" category, deselect the "Save password" option
