E-mail Storage Limitation

Insight Broadband reserves the right to limit the amount of time that E-mail is stored on the E-mail servers used by Insight Broadband. Due to the fact that some customers may create E-mail accounts and then never use them, these E-mail accounts may fill up with unread E-mail messages.

In order to provide the best possible service to our customers, and to allow E-mail storage space for customers regularly accessing E-mail accounts, Insight Broadband reserves the right to delete any E-mail messages placed in your "Trash" folder. When you delete an E-mail, it will be placed in your "Trash" folder where it will remain for 7 days. After 7 days, it will be deleted permanently from Insight's servers. Your E-mail account will not be deleted, only those messages that you have placed in your "Trash" folder unless they are deleted sooner by you.

To prevent the loss of any of your E-mail messages, Insight Broadband recommends that you check your Insight Broadband E-mail accounts at least once per month. This will guarantee that your E-mail messages will always be available for you to download to your computer.

Also, Insight Broadband allows individual E-mail accounts to hold up to 1GB of E-mail, content and attachments. If your E-mail account reaches this size limitation before E-mail is downloaded to your computer, the sender of the E-mail will receive their original E-mail back (known as a "bounced E-mail") with an explanation that your E-mail account has reached full capacity. To avoid "bounced E-mails," you should check your E-mail on a regular basis.

Outlook Express has an setting that will allow you to keep copies of your E-mails on the mail server.

To check this setting, follow the steps below:

1. While in Outlook Express, click on Tools, then Accounts, highlight the E-mail account in question, and click Properties.

2. Click on the Advanced tab

3. Under the Delivery section, make sure that "Leave a copy of messages on server" is not checked.

4. Click OK, and Close on the Accounts window.

Size of Attachments - Outlook / Outlook Express

While each E-mailbox can hold up to 1GB of content, this does not mean that an E-mail with a 1GB attachment can be sent successfully. You can successfully send and receive E-mails totaling up to 10MB in size, including attachments.

Insight Broadband only provides support for Outlook Express and Webmail. For assistance with other e-mail applications, please consult their Websites for support.
